
Stop the Burn-outs on Your SIG Blomax Lines
If you’re running SIG Blomax lines, you know the headache of tube burn-outs. It’s usually a nasty mix of thermal stress and the constant vibration of the machine. We’ve all been there—everything is running smooth, and then snap. That’s exactly why we built these replacement lamps for Amsler blowers. We looked at where the standard OEM quartz tubes keep failing and decided to fix it. Getting the power right These are drop-in replacements. We kept the voltage and wattage exactly where the Amsler oven expects them to be. Why? Because balance is everything here. If you crank the wattage too high without messing with your cycle time, you’ll scorch the PET. But go too low, and you’ll end up with bottles that have uneven walls. It’s a tightrope walk, and we’ve made sure these lamps stay right in the sweet spot. Built to actually last Most lamps give up the ghost at the pinch seal or where the electrode hits the glass. To stop that, we switched to a reinforced quartz glass. It handles the “hot-cold-hot” cycle of a production line way better than the generic stuff. Plus, it’s tougher. It doesn’t just snap when the machine starts humming at high speeds. We also spent a lot of time on the ends. They’re precision-ground. If a lamp is too loose, you get hotspots. Too tight? It cracks as it expands. We found the middle ground so they seat perfectly every time. Getting them on the floor Wiring these in is simple. They fit the original footprint, so you don’t have to go hacking away at your oven housing. One quick tip: because the glass is reinforced, the way it lets out heat (the emissivity) might be a tiny bit different. You might need to nudge your oven temperature by a few degrees or tweak your IR sensors to get your preforms exactly where you want them. And please, double-check your cooling water flow. Even the toughest tube on the planet will fry if the cooling system isn’t pulling the heat away from the electrodes.
