
On the blow molding floor, the heating tunnel is where the clock really starts to bite. Preforms stack up in the magazine, and every extra second in the warm-up stretches your cycle time. Let the lamps lag and you’ll pay for it—uneven wall thickness, blown bottles, and scrap. We designed a fast-response infrared lamp to cut that drag out of the process.
What matters, technically
The emitter is a quartz halogen short-wave infrared lamp, tuned for a quick thermal rise and stable output in the preform heating zone. It hits target temperature in seconds, so the heating profile settles fast after a changeover. You get consistent spectral output across the tunnel, which keeps preforms heating evenly from neck to base.
The lamps run on standard voltages and use the same R7s connector interface as the originals, so you swap them in without rewiring. Dimensions match the OEM holders, and the filament geometry is chosen to keep intensity distribution uniform.
Why it plays on these machines
Compatibility is baked in, not bolted on. We spec lamps that drop straight into Sidel Matrix, Krones Contiform, Husky HyPET, and the common stretch blow molding platforms from SACMI and Nissei ASB. That means you can standardize spares across multiple lines without having to re-qualify the whole heating system.
Fast response shortens the time from start-up to stable production, cuts scrap, and helps the machine run at rated output. Energy use comes down, too, because the lamp heats on demand and holds temperature without overshoot.
The details that keep you out of trouble
Installation is straightforward, but alignment is the make-or-break. A lamp sitting even a millimeter off-axis will create a hot spot and a cold spot, and you’ll see it in bottle weight and clarity. Make sure the reflector is clean and seated properly.
These lamps run hot—handle with gloves, and confirm your holder and wiring can handle the current. Schedule replacements during planned maintenance so you don’t get caught by an unplanned stop.
